Inklyng on iPad
Inklyng for iPad is a free app from the Apple App Store. It runs natively on any iPad with iPadOS 17 or later, from the mini to the 13-inch Pro. An older iPad that can't update that far can still show Inklyng in Safari.
How it works
- On the iPad open the App Store, search for Inklyng and choose Get.
- Open the app. It shows a 6-digit code.
- On your phone or computer, log in to Inklyng, choose Add display, then iPad, and type the code.
- Choose which screens the iPad shows and how long each stays. Keep the iPad plugged in.
Screens you can show
- Photo Frame. Your own photos, cropped for the display.
- Weather. A sky that matches the real conditions, with hourly and weekly forecasts and a radar loop.
- Earth view. A globe lit by the sun's true position and turned to your city.
- Stocks. Prices and a clean history chart, with a scrolling ticker.
- Text. Your own words in the font and colors you choose, sized to fill the screen.
- Message board. A split-flap board of tiles, with emoji, colors and schedules.
- Ai Based. Describe a picture and AI paints it for your screen.
Put as many as you like in a playlist and the display moves through them on its own.
Tips
- Lock the iPad to Inklyng with Apple's Guided Access (Settings, Accessibility, Guided Access) so nobody leaves the app by accident.
- The Inklyng iPad app reports its battery, so you can see when it needs charging.
