Displays

Inklyng in a web browser

Anything that can open a web page works as an Inklyng display: a computer, a Chromebook, an Amazon Fire tablet, a smart TV or a monitor with a Fire TV Stick. You don't install anything.

How it works

  1. Log in to Inklyng on your phone or computer, choose Add display, and pick Web Browser.
  2. Connect the screen in whichever way is easiest: scan the QR code with its camera, open the link, or go to inklyng.app/go on it and type the 6-character code.
  3. A code works once and expires after 5 minutes. You can also have a link emailed to the screen.
  4. Choose which screens it shows and how long each stays. A browser screen reconnects by itself if the Wi-Fi drops.

Screens you can show

  • Photo Frame. Your own photos, cropped for the display.
  • Weather. A sky that matches the real conditions, with hourly and weekly forecasts and a radar loop.
  • Earth view. A globe lit by the sun's true position and turned to your city.
  • Stocks. Prices and a clean history chart, with a scrolling ticker.
  • Text. Your own words in the font and colors you choose, sized to fill the screen.
  • Message board. A split-flap board of tiles, with emoji, colors and schedules.
  • Ai Based. Describe a picture and AI paints it for your screen.

Put as many as you like in a playlist and the display moves through them on its own.

Tips

  • The page fills the screen at its own size, so it works at any resolution.
  • Some screens, such as the Earth view, are for color screens 700 px and wider.
